Philip Marzolf

CEO / Director

Phil has been involved in building successful commercial ventures and introducing emerging technologies for the past 2 decades. Educated as an electrical engineer, he was CTO for a start-up that was acquired by Intel, and subsequently held various engineering, marketing and general management roles at Intel and National Semiconductor. He spent 4 years in Germany managing operations and building sales and marketing organizations for Telefunken, and Micronas. Since 2013 Phil has focused on creating and deploying sales and marketing strategies for early-stage companies in Pittsburgh, and was an entrepreneur in residence (EIR) at the University of Pittsburgh focusing on Internet of Things (IoT) commercialization. He holds a BSEE from the University of Notre Dame, an MSEE degree from Santa Clara University, and an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. His desire is to contribute to a 21st century America that is entrepreneurial, innovative, inclusive, and intrepid.

Dr. James A. Spearot

Chief Technology Officer

James (Jim) Spearot has more than twenty-five years of executive experience, mostly with General Motors Corporation. For ten years, Jim was the Director of one of General Motors’ major Research and Development Laboratories. Jim has also served as the Lead Executive for General Motors’ R&D programs in Russia and CIS countries. Jim also served as Chief Scientist for General Motors’ Public Policy Center; Director of General Motors’ Global Hydrogen Storage Innovation Program; and presented General Motors’ position on the development of alternative fuel infrastructure to the US House of Representatives, Subcommittee on Energy and the Environment. Jim holds an M.S. and Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Delaware. He was elected an SAE Fellow, 2007. Jim has been an invited Keynote speaker at worldwide conferences and has published many articles.

Dr. Yuejun Zhao

Chief Engineer

Dr. Zhao has ten years of experience in academic research following his post-doctorate associate at Duke University, Microscale Physiochemical Hydrodynamics Laboratory. Dr. Zhao also served as a research associate at Swanson Micro/Nanotechnology Lab, University of Pittsburgh. Dr. Zhao has published several journal papers and co-authored book chapters. Dr. Zhao holds an MS & BS from Tsinghua University, Beijing and received a Ph.D. from the University of Pittsburgh.

Dr. Elena Sheina

Director of Product Development

Dr. Elena Sheina has held senior research and product development position over the past decade with companies such as Plextronics and Solvay. She has been granted 15 U.S. Patents, and has lead the development of several commercially successful products. She holds Masters and PhD degrees from Carnegie Mellon University.

Adam Kruszewski, MD, MBA

Chairman of the Board of Directors

Seniorhealth care/health care insurance/high tech devices manager and entrepreneur with over 20 years experience in Poland and other countries of CEE as well as in the US. Experience in operations, sales & marketing, finance and general management. Has managed operations up to 2,000 people. International network operations building. Leaded successful turn-around, created strategy, built, managed and sold own sizeable international business. Working experience with all aspects of health care industry management, health insurance products, drug development. Health care expert advising governments, being in Boards of directors of big companies, setting up influential health care think tank.

Kreske Nickelsen

General Partner, CEO, JPIF

Ms Nickelsen is a venture capital professional with more than 18 years of supervisory board and investment experience in companies based all over Europe. Before JPIF, Ms Nickelsen was a partner at Aescap, a life science venture capital fund based in Amsterdam (www.Aescap.com), and before that a director at 3i Group plc in London (www.3igroup.com). She holds an MBA from INSEAD (France) and a Masters in Biology from Philipps University Marburg (Germany).

Microsystems Integration Engineer New

We are currently looking for a full-time Microsystems Integration Engineer to perform the following job duties:

Work in the R&D lab; design and build a complete system based on the P2M solid-state pH sensor, including sensor package and probe design, building prototypes for proof-of-concept design, PCB circuit design and embedded system programming, and writing mobile apps for data processing; support the sensor development team in bringing the sensor fabrication from the laboratory level to mass production, including designing customized fixtures, tools, and automation systems.

Requirements

MS degree in mechanical engineering or another closely related field.
